THE FAIRIE KING©

A NEW ADVENTURE BEGINS

MAIN CHARACTERS

“Our help?” Fay asked. “What on earth can we do to help the Fairies? How does the Fairie King even know about us?”

"I’m sorry I cannot answer those questions. We were given that message and the mission to bring you back. Beyond that, we simply don’t know. The King will provide you with the answers you seek, but we must leave immediately.”

HUMANS

Charlie
The Fairie King by James Lipson

A nervous, sweet, easily overwhelmed young man that lives on an idyllic farm with his mom and dad. The quiet solitude of their ranch is a perfect environment for Charlie, who can be easily over-stimulated. He once told his dad that sometimes it felt like everything comes at once, like a huge wave at the beach knocking the breath out of my lungs.

Charlie’s peaceful life will change forever when five of the King’s Guards Fairies arrive on his doorstep asking for his family’s help to save the Fairie Kingdom.

Caleb
The Fairie King by James Lipson

Charlie's first cousin and frequent tormentor. Caleb Williams, older, larger, and stronger than anyone else at his small school, held back a year for failing grades and disruptive behavior.

Raised by his mother Mia (Connor's sister), on their remote horse farm, Caleb was allowed to run wild and free, to do whatever he wanted with little to no discipline. His love of picking on smaller and weaker children lands him in the principal's office more times than not.

Fay
The Fairie King by James Lipson

Protective and loyal, Fay provides Charlie (and husband Connor) with the grounded critical-thinking they both need from time-to-time. While Fay may not be the life of the party, she is the person you want on your side when the going gets tough.

Often telling people she can be spontaneous with careful planning, Fay has always been more comfortable following rules than breaking them.

Connor
The Fairie King by James Lipson

An easy-going, sweet, fun man that never has a harsh word for anyone he meets. Forever looking for the good in people, he is the first to arrive and the last to leave when someone (even strangers) needs help.

Connor's main goal in life is to create a warm and loving home for Charlie and Fay. That no matter what, he would always be there for them. On the day Charlie was born vowing that his family would never go to sleep wondering if he was coming home like he did when his father left.

FAIRIES

Ava
The Fairie King by James Lipson

Level-headed, strong, confident, a natural leader of the King's Guard. Ava embodies everything it means to be in the King's service; honest, trustworthy, dependable with an embedded sense of right and wrong.

Originally from a Forest Clan, Ava has been the Fairie King’s most trusted advisor for nearly a quarter of a century. When she speaks, he listens. Ava’s insight and experience will prove invaluable to the Donal's perilous journey to the Fairie Kingdom.

Iris
The Fairie King by James Lipson

Joyful and happy, Iris has a temperament more in line with a Garden Fairie than the serious members of her original River Clan. Fun. Light-hearted and kind, Iris will put the feelings of others above her own.

Supportive and warm, Charlie (uncharacteristically) feels an immediate connection with her. Bonding with Charlie over her understanding of his sensitivities, eventually helping him to overcome his greatest fears.

Finley
The Fairie King by James Lipson

Charming, charismatic, fun and always up for a laugh or a joke, Finley has the ability to brighten any room he enters simply by being himself. He's the guy everyone else wants to be around.

Younger brother to Colin, both raised with the carnivorous trees of the northern forests. Because of this, their clan has produced some of the best flyers in the Kingdom.

Colin
The Fairie King by James Lipson

A King's Guard since being recruited after becoming the youngest winner of the Fairie Flying Competition.

Colin's five-wins-in-a-row (a record which still stands) are taught across the Kingdom for their creative simplicity. Even younger brother Finley was forced to study them in his fourth year at the King's Guard school.

MAGICAL CREATURES

Frank
The Fairie King by James Lipson

Inquisitive and highly intelligent. Wailing Gerbils are fiercely family-oriented, they love being around their own kind but can be highly distrustful of strangers. Small, fuzzy, and adorable, Wailing Gerbils can bring the largest creatures to their knees with an ear-splitting scream.

Wailing Gerbil Frank (orphaned deep in the woods), afraid and alone, becomes Charlie's best-friend in the world after their first meeting.

Ludari
The Fairie King by James Lipson

Wise, intelligent and well-versed with most of the magical creatures in the Fairie Kingdom. Ludari leads a small team of Unicorns to help the Donal family reach the Fairie Kingdom.

Unicorns are one of the few creatures able to outrun the giant Glykon's (two-story tall snakes that make the ground tremble when they move).

Doonongaes
The Fairie King by James Lipson

A centipede-like creature with 250 sets of legs, a horned flat head, and the ability to breath a poisonous gas that is deadly to most living creatures.

Devious and sneaky, Doonongaes prefer to approach their prey from behind, incapacitating or killing them before they realize what’s happening.

Wulvers
The Fairie King by James Lipson

Wulvers look like werewolves that stopped transforming halfway through the process. An odd combination of an over-developed human torso with the head of a disfigured wolf and muscular canine haunches that allow them to travel great distances in short amounts of time.

Despite their ferocious appearance, they are a non-aggressive species that would rather slink away from a confrontation than face it head on, preferring to flee rather than having to fight.
